Research confirms coaching could be key to combating credit crunch

by Personnel Today 22 Jul 2008

The latest FREE Business Survival Guide from leading HR recruitment and training specialists Wright Solutions has confirmed that coaching can play a major role in helping businesses overcome the effects of the credit crunch.

It has long been accepted that if organisations are to remain successful, they must keep staff highly motivated.

However, the slowing economy means that many companies are no longer able to offer the financial incentives that have previously been provided.

Entitled ‘Creating a Coaching Culture – can an organisation be coached?’, Wright Solutions’ Guide draws on major new research to explain how coaching has been proven to increase employee motivation, confidence and job satisfaction.

In the absence of monetary rewards, coaching can therefore present an extremely effective means of improving an organisation’s bottom line performance, sales, productivity and customer service.

Jon Terry, Operations Director at Wright Solutions explained:

“the popularity of coaching really is booming at the moment as more and more companies appreciate the benefits that it can deliver. This is underlined by the fact that a major search engine now produces over 93 million hits for the term ‘coaching’ – a figure that is an astonishing 24% higher than four years ago”.

Terry continued:

“our new Guide has been written by Paul Turner – a renowned authority on coaching and former Head of People at West Bromwich Building Society. Paul is now a strategic partner of Wright Solutions and has worked closely with us to provide clients with high profile coaching programmes and consultancy projects.

“The Guide summarises Paul’s latest research into coaching and makes a number of strategic conclusions. Every business should take time to read its intriguing findings”.

‘Creating a Coaching Culture’ is the third in a series of Guides to be published by Wright Solutions.
