Indications from the latest labour turnover statistics show early signs of a downward trend.
The latest results from separate annual surveys conducted by the CBI and the CIPD both agree that labour turnover rates across the UK have stalled.
The two surveys both state that the latest national rates stand at around 16%, although such headline figures disguise the significant variations between different occupational groups and industry sectors.
The overall resignation rate in the HR profession has fallen from 8% to 3% in the 12 months to September 2004, its lowest level for five years.
