Rise in tribunals sparks new business at Exclusive HR

A rise in tribunal cases (Source: Employment Tribunal Service Annual Report 05/06) and an increasingly compensation-led culture has sparked the launch of the North East’s only independent recruitment consultancy to specialise purely in the HR sector.

Newcastle-based Exclusive Human Resources has been established by recruitment specialist Mark Ions, whose track record includes eight years with a nationwide recruitment firm, establishing a successful North East HR division.

Covering the whole of Tyne & Wear, Teesside and Cumbria, the new company’s services include permanent HR recruitment, interim HR recruitment and professional HR consultancy services via a hand-picked team of associates.

Mark said: “We live in an increasingly litigious world. Although many cases are settled out of court, Employment Tribunal Service statistics for 2005/2006 show a 33% increase in the number of accepted tribunals.

“The best way to resolve an employment dispute is to make sure it doesn’t arise by recruiting HR people who can make a real contribution to an organisation, and the obvious way to do that is for employers to use a professional and specialist recruitment partner.”

He relishes the challenge of establishing a new business in a crowded regional market: “It’s time for recruitment companies to raise their game and prove that they are interested in more than just filling seats if the profession is to be taken seriously. I’m looking forward to playing my part in shifting some of the negative perceptions that a lot of employers hold about recruitment services.”

Employers are voting with their feet, with several big name clients already on the books and thousands of hits on the company’s website.
