Benjys, the budget food and drink retail firm, is planning to open 150 new stores across the UK.
It will also expand its delivery van service, creating a total of more than 2,000 jobs.
The expansion follows the success of its 50 stores in the South East which offer lower-cost sandwiches and other takeaway foods.
Each shop will be staffed by about 10 people, while 500 jobs will be created with the growing van delivery service.
Ian Rickwood, chief executive of Benjys, said: “Expansion comes at a time when the core base of the company-owned stores in London have performed well.

“With the UK sandwich market worth around £3.5bn, we want to increase our share of this growing and profitable market.”
Benjys, which opened its first store in London in 1989, is also appointing 25 “development agents” to help its expansion plans.
