Security
has been tightened at Ikea’s 11 British stores after explosive devices were
found at two of its European outlets.
UK
staff at the home furnishings chain have been warned to look out for suspicious
packages and 10 stores in the Netherlands were closed.
In
all 2,700 staff were sent home in Holland after a bomb threat was sent to the
Dutch headquarters of the firm.
Two
policemen were injured after one of the packages, found in a store at Siedrech,
exploded as they tried to defuse it.
