Talent Labs, a new centre specifically designed for training and assessment seems to have signposted a sea change in the selection of facilities HR professionals are choosing as they move away from the use of hotels and office meeting rooms.
Training and Development managers are becoming frustrated by the inadequate facilities provided by hotels and their own offices.
They are growing increasingly demanding, looking for tools such as the provision of psychometric testing facilities onsite and a suite of perfect interview rooms.
The scarcity of suitable venues is reducing the impact of the training received by the delegates and reducing the accuracy of recruitment by as much as 20% according to management consultancy Chemistry.
Roger Philby, CEO of Chemistry explains,
“Candidates and hiring managers at assessment centres are fed up with accepting poor standards. They want a smoothly run focused day, and not one worrying about whether the candidate is going to get lost on the way to the loo! They just want a great experience. That’s what you get at the Talent Labs.”
The catalyst for HR managers raising their expectations was Talent Labs, a high quality interview, development and assessment facility custom built by successful talent management consultancy Chemistry in 2007.
Located in the Thames Valley it has found a market that has been crying out for change.

The modern and relaxed environment of the Talent Labs includes video enabled interview rooms, a psychometric testing suite and even offers access to qualified psychologists to interpret the data.
Mr Philby continued, “When it comes to a fantastic environment to assess candidates or hold dedicated development sessions, there has never been anything like this before.”
