Teachers will pay price for strike action warns LGA

The
Local Government Association (LGA) has warned teachers that they could lose
more pay than other workers if they carry out a one day strike.

According
to reports in the Telegraph, the LGA has warned teachers they will lose more
cash than others because they have longer holidays.

It
claims that because teachers work 195 days a year they should lose one 195th of
salary for every day spent on strike.

The
National Union of Teachers, which is balloting its members over the action in
November, wants higher awards and said the deductions would be unlawful.
