Thames Valley Police select Bowland Solutions to provide on-line 360 degree feedback solution

by Personnel Today 15 Jan 2009
by Personnel Today 15 Jan 2009

Bowland Solutions have been selected to work with the Berkshire East Basic Command Unit within Thames Valley Police to implement a bespoke 360 degree feedback system that will support employee development.

The initial part of the project will be to create a customised competency framework which supports Area Inspectors in their role.

The framework will reflect Thames Valley Police values, standards of behaviour and provide the basis for the 360 Degree Feedback process to follow.

Bowland will then provide a branded, securely hosted on-line 360 degree appraisal system which will enable users to log-in and complete questionnaires, whilst administrators will be able to monitor progress, send reminders and release individual reports.

In addition to the system provision and ongoing support, Bowland will be training the Learning & Development team in how to conduct effective 360 degree feedback debriefs with recipients; the debriefs help individuals explore their report and the feedback, before they generate a targeted personal development plan.

John Rice, Sales & Marketing Director of Bowland Solutions, adds:

“We are very happy to have been selected by Thames Valley Police and look forward to working very closely with them in delivering a tailored 360 process which offers invaluable feedback and development opportunities for the individuals going through the process but also adds value to the organisation, as they can see wider trends and development needs emerge.”

Thames Valley Police is one of the largest police services in England and the largest non-metropolitan one, covering 2200 sq mi (5,700 km²) and a population of 2.1 million.

The force is responsible for the Thames Valley area covered by the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire
