Training’s publisher turns to Skillport

Reed Business Information (RBI), publisher of Training Magazine, has implemented the SkillPort online learning system from SkillSoft.

Available to staff around the clock, the system offers 3,000 soft skills and IT courses. It replaces Reed’s My Smartforce system, which primarily contained software courses (SkillSoft and SmartForce merged in 2002).

“Employees can learn at a time to suit them and their managers,” says Elena Finocchio, software training manager at RBI. “They can only access work-related courses during working hours, but are free to access any other non-work courses during their own free time. The courses are modular, which enables the user to select the content directly relevant to their learning needs.”

SkillPort incorporates Books 24 x7, which gives access to more than 5,000 titles and two million pages of text.
