Troubled council forced to sack management and HR head

Walsall
Council has sacked it entire management team including the head of personnel.

An
Audit Commission report recommended the removal of the senior management team
after the troubled council received bad report by Ofsted and Department of
Health.

In a
drastic move, the elected members removed the six-strong management team
including Deb Clarke, head of personnel and development.

The
council has recruited a interim chief executive who will appoint an interim
team, which must prove to local government minister Nick Raynsford that the
council is improving its performance before a permanent management team can be
appointed.
