UK’s Gala Coral hits talent jackpot with StepStone Solutions Talent Acquisition

Leading UK gaming company Gala Coral Group has implemented StepStone Solutions Talent Acquisition to handle the 300 applications it receives each day for the many job vacancies it advertises across its three main divisions in the UK. StepStone Solutions Talent Acquisition is streamlining recruitment processes, driving time and cost savings and helping Gala Coral position itself as an ‘employer of choice’ among candidates. Gala Coral is also using the capabilities of StepStone Solutions Talent Acquisition to stream vacancies directly to its Facebook and Twitter pages, creating a much more varied approach to promoting its employer brand.

“Since we launched, there’s been some exceptional candidates getting fast tracked through to interview within 48 hours of applying. Such a quick turnaround will give us a real edge when we’re recruiting and our line managers are really excited about the quality of service the recruitment function now provides,” explains Magnus Batey, Group Resourcing Manager at Gala Coral.

With 16,500 employees, three distinct brands (Coral Bookmakers, Gala Bingo and Gala Casino) and a strong online presence, Gala Coral has centralised recruitment on StepStone Solutions Talent Acquisition to increase efficiency and hire quality. Prior to implementing StepStone Solutions, Gala Coral relied on paper-based recruitment processes which failed to adequately match candidates to suitable positions, offered no means of filtering applicants and allowed little time for individual candidate feedback. Gala Coral appreciated that to attract the best candidates it needed to offer a rich candidate experience and to let candidates know where they were in the process at all times. Having launched a new careers website at the company received a great response, already averaging 20,000 visits per month.
