The outsourcing company Vertex is creating 1,500 new jobs by
opening two customer centres in the North West.
At least 1,000 jobs will be created with the opening of a
new 500-seat call centre in Whitehaven, Cumbria. The centre will open in September
and will make Vertex one of Cumbria’s main employers.
A further 550 jobs will be created with the opening of a
customer service centre in Knowsley, Merseyside. This is expected to be
operational by the end of February and will handle call centre operations from
new blue chip clients such as home shopping giant JD Williams.
Commenting on the expansion of Vertex, Tom Drury, Vertex’s
managing director said, “The growth in outsourcing has led to rapid expansion
for Vertex over the past 12 months and these two new customer contact centres are
the direct result of new business gains.”
Vertex employs 7,000 people in the UK.
