In your last issue, John McGurk of the CIPD wrote about the relatively poor performance of the UK as far as learning and acquiring skills is concerned. What he failed to mention is the importance of attitude on the part of the learner.
As every teacher and many parents know, if someone is unwilling to learn or is uninterested in learning, then they won’t learn very much at all. That’s why so many publicly-funded training initiatives fail.
