Workers hold boss hostage in redundancy meltdown

Police were called in to free the British director of an ice cream factory in Saint-Dizier, France, last week, after he was held hostage by angry workers.

Prakesh Patel was outlining redundancy terms for more than half of 493 employees at the Unilever-owned Cogesal-Miko plant, when he was frog-marched to his office and held captive overnight.
