GraduatesRecruitment & retention

GradU8.com goes live

by Personnel Today 29 Oct 2008
by Personnel Today 29 Oct 2008

GradU8.com, the latest virtual graduate recruitment event from totaljobs.com, goes LIVE today with over 50 of the UK’s biggest graduate recruiters on board.

Mike Fetters, Graduate Sales Director at totaljobs.com said,

“GradU8.com is gearing up to be a huge success. The new event attracted phenomenal interest and now boasts 54 exhibitors in total; 25 of which are listed on The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers List.

“Our goal for GradU8 from the outset was to provide jobseekers with a quality graduate offering; and they can be sure we’ll deliver some of UK’s most respected and sought-after graduate employers”.

Featuring the IT and Engineering Sector on Monday, companies like IBM, Corus Group, Accenture, LloydsTSB and Sky are just a few who are signed up and exhibiting.

Tuesday through to Thursday will be devoted to Finance & Professional Services, Retail & FMCG and Sales & Marketing retrospectively, with all other graduate training programmes on Friday.

With thousands of graduates already registered and numbers continuing to grow, totaljobs.com are expecting upwards of 40,000 unique graduates over the duration of the week.

“The appeal of GradU8.com lies in the unique opportunity it offers both graduates and recruiters to interact in an engaging and real-time virtual environment. GradU8 offers jobseekers a platform to view all the latest graduate opportunities whilst giving them the opportunity to chat with potential employers and apply for jobs online.

“And, for recruiters, it offers a dynamic way to showcase their corporate offering through video and webinars to a highly targeted audience”, Mike Fetters added.

Designed and developed by digital communications agency Glass, Rick Lippiett, Creative Director, commented:

“Gradu8.com appeals to a youthful audience who value the connectivity of the new web and are familiar with sharing and participating through MySpace, Facebook or more targeted forums.

“By taking advantage of the familiarity of users with high levels of interaction, and developing meaningful and engaging content, GradU8.com has moved the whole concept of a recruitment fair into the digital environment.

“By introducing a CV clinic, downloadable guides and lots of video content we have created a unique opportunity for graduate jobseekers to do a lot of worthwhile vocational research and ultimately get the ball rolling in applying for jobs suited to their personal strengths.”
