BTS, the world leader in customised business simulations and other discovery-based learning solutions, announces that client BG Group, a global integrated gas major, has been recognized by Getenergy, an education and training trade group for the oil and gas industry, for making the most significant contribution to its staff learning and development in 2007.
Getenergy awards, open to any energy company, were designed to help promote the organisation’s goals of improving the capabilities in the exploration, production and transportation of energy and to work towards a sustainable global energy industry.

Over the past two years the highly customised simulation has given over 500 BG Group employees around the world the experience of running their own gas company, with all its inherent challenges and opportunities.
Participants, competing in teams, act as managers of the company over an 18-year period, assessing country entry, bidding for licences, exploring and appraising prospects and developing reserves.
Business Discovery assesses teams on their ability to commercialise the reserves they produce through selling into existing demand, creating demand through transmission and distribution, power and Liquefied Natural Gas projects, while always keeping in mind the importance of HSSE (health safety, security and the environment) and Corporate Responsibility investments.
