Employer branding conference preview: Connecting Employees to Customers to Profit

London will play host to the 2012 Employer Branding World Series Summit on 21 March and Personnel Today and TMP Worldwide are official partners for the event.

The “2012 Employer Branding World Series” Summits bring together employer branding experts and professionals from around the world to share and discuss their stories, challenges, failures and successes.

Delegates will:



  • share in the latest global developments, research, trends and best practices in employer branding;
  • learn how to adopt a strategic approach to employer branding and find out how this affects employee engagement, customer sales, revenue and growth;
  • understand the role of technology and social media and learn why a clearly defined social strategy is critical to optimising performance in the new business environment;
  • learn how to define key metrics and return on investment for your employer brand strategy ; and
  • learn from employer branding leaders who are establishing the global standards in employer branding best practice.

The all-day event takes place at London’s Gibson Hall on Bishopsgate and features speakers from high-profile brands including:

Brett MinchingtonBrett Minchington, chairman and chief executive of Employer Brand International

Minchington’s talk will look at global trends in employer branding and their implications for the UK. He will discuss trends driving talent attraction, engagement and retention and which trends leaders in the UK should embrace if they want to stay competitive following the global financial crisis.

 

 

 

Michael Holm, employer branding manager, IBM DenmarkMichael Holm, employer branding manager, IBM Denmark

Holm will discuss the use of social media as a means to providing a strong employer brand. Delegates will learn from detailed insights into how IBM is using social media both within and outside the organisation, including lessons learned along the way.

 

 

 

Suzie Kerr, Vigin MediaSuzie Kerr, head of employee engagement and experience, Virgin Media

Kerr will look at how to get buy-in from the top. As part of Suzie’s remit she provides the thought leadership to the business on where the employer engagement and branding strategy needs focus.

 

 

 

Neil Harrison, Head of Employer Branding & Insight, TMP UKNeil Harrison, head of employer branding and insight, TMP Worldwide

Harrison’s talk is titled: “The digital activation of the employer brand”. It used to be that an employer could create employer brand components to attract candidates and engage with current employees. Today, we are living through an era where activation is key, routed in personalised, mobilised and socialised experiences.

 

 

 

Chris StrangeChris Strange, head of corporate brand planning, Lloyds Banking Group

Strange will discuss the multi-brand challenges of engagement and alignment within Lloyds; reputation issues in the financial sector as a whole; and how the bank is encouraging behaviours by relationship brand and group alignment.

 

 

 

Rebecca Gloyne, global talent acquisition manager (marketing), Nokia and Cameron Bird, director, HR operations, resourcing and pensions, SantanderCameron Bird, director, HR operations, resourcing and pensions, Santander and Rebecca Gloyne, global talent acquisition manager, Nokia, will join Brett Minchington for a panel discussion in the afternoon looking at how to achieve employer branding best practice in an uncertain economy.
