Meetings are waste of time

Eight out of 10 UK workers believe most of their meetings are unnecessary or unproductive, costing thousands of pounds in wasted time. An international survey of more than 2,000 staff by recruitment consultancy Robert Walters revealed that 80% believed they wasted time attending meetings because they were unstructured and resulted in no defined actions.

Award-winning jobs website

PersonnelTodayJobs.com has won the National Online Recruitment Award 2006 for best online recruitment section of a trade publication. Group sales director Paul Cook said: “The team has done a great job. The site has more than 4,000 jobs and generates more than 13,000 online applications a month, offering all the functionality of a specialist jobs board plus access to the all-important passive jobseeker.”

Legal TV switches channels

Legal TV has moved to Sky channel 215 from its previous ‘home’ at channel 885. A spokesman for Legal TV, which broadcasts the weekly show Your Law: Employment Law, said: “People will find us more easily in this new position and our viewing figures will increase.” Look out for a new collaboration between Legal TV and Personnel Today.
