The Faculty of Occupational Medicine is looking for representatives to sit on a working group looking at the health of immigrant workers. As more immigrant workers arrive in the UK, the Home Office has asked the faculty to help it examine the issue. Those interested should e-mail [email protected] or telephone 020 7317 5897.
CIPD law workshops
The CIPD is running a series of employment law workshops on improving attendance and managing sickness absence more effectively. They run from November to early December and will travel around the country.

Islington Council has launched an employee assistance programme for its 4,000 staff and their families. It is being run by EAP provider PPC Worldwide.
Bupa absence service
Private healthcare provider Bupa has developed a new absence management service. It claimed its 360-degree Health Risk Management service can save up to 1 per cent of an organisation’s payroll figure.
