BBC staff relocation decision could be delayed

BBC staff could face a year-long wait before being told whether they will be relocated out of London.

Director general Mark Thompson plans £320m of cuts, which will mean 1,800 posts moving to Manchester and other regions. Staff at Children’s BBC, Sport and Radio Five Live had expected details by March.
 
But unions said the job cuts could be delayed if the review of the BBC’s Royal Charter and funding is postponed by the general election.
