The
Government’s emergency care tsar Sir George Alberti has praised NHS staff at
the top performing accident and emergency wards for speeding up treatment.
Twenty
of the top performing NHS trusts were invited to a special event to reward
staff for consistent and improved performance on time targets.
The
‘top performers day’ was also an opportunity for sharing best practice and
learning about new initiatives.
Alberti
said that around 90 per cent of emergency patients were now being seen within
four hours, but conceded that further improvements were required.
