Average recruitment savings of £800m being missed

by Personnel Today 21 Oct 2009

An average saving of £800m a month is being missed by UK businesses that do not take advantage of Jobcentre Plus services, such as free vacancy-advertising, when recruiting, a Populus survey has revealed.

The survey, of more than 500 businesses, identified that over half (51%) of businesses are still recruiting, however, only two in five employers have a relationship with Jobcentre Plus.

On top of this potential saving per recruit, employers that take on people unemployed for six months or more through the Recruitment Subsidy scheme can receive £1,000 for each eligible jobseeker and access in-work training worth up to £1,500.
