Azzurri Communications implement online flexible benefits with Thomsons Online Benefits

by Personnel Today 9 Jul 2009

Azzurri Communications, the leading managed services company delivering flexible voice, data and mobile communications has implemented online flexible benefits for their over 700 employees.

Azzurri was formed in June 2000 and has grown rapidly partly through the acquisition of sixteen companies. Azzurri appointed Thomsons Online Benefits to harmonise their benefits including seventeen pension schemes, and to create a unified benefit brand that would both engage employees, and promote Azzurri’s commitment to its people by offering a competitive and appealing reward package to support individual lifestyles.

Thomsons Online Benefits created the brand “The Benefits Network” and first implemented online pension functionality in October 2008 to enable employees to enrol and manage their pension using their software Perquisite™.  As stage two, online total reward statements and flexible benefits were launched in April 2009.

Thomsons used a range of communication methods including face-to-face meetings, and the telephone. Azzurri employees also received a campaign of highly targeted and personalised online and printed communication pieces. This approach resulted in unique login rate of 75 per cent.

Noel McGonigle, HR Director at Azzurri comments: “As we have grown so quickly, and as a result of so many acquisitions, managing and communicating our reward package had become an increasingly complicated and time consuming task. We now have one reward structure and brand that unites our people in line with our “One Azzurri” culture and facilitates our future expansion.”

“In addition from an HR point of view we have reduced our administrative and communication burden. We now have straight through processing from our HR system to Perquisite™. We are delighted with the launch of the Benefits Network. It is now a familiar brand with our people and is viewed as a trusted source of information. We look forward to further developing our reward strategy with Thomsons Online Benefits.”
