BackCheck provides background-checking services for Renault

by Personnel Today 22 Jan 2009

BackCheck, the largest non-US owned background-checking company in the UK, has announced it will be providing increased background-checking services for car giant Renault.

Renault employs over 1,000 people in the UK and already implements CRB checks for many of its staff. The company has now asked BackCheck to increase its security checks for potential employees.

The additional checks will include covering their educational credentials and corroborating ten year’s worth of employment references. Renault hopes the process will deter applicants from lying on their CVs.

Chris Hawkins, Assistant Vice President of Operations said: “Renault has always taken very seriously the credentials of their employees. They are forward thinking enough to realise that a member of staff who has deceived their employer may not only cost the company money but could also put other members of staff or the public at risk.”
