Consultancy firm Capgemini has dismissed its chief operating officer after it emerged he was secretly interviewed for another job.
Pierre Danon was shown the door last week after just seven months. He was appointed last November, but only arrived this March, after serving his notice at BT Retail, where he was managing director.
On 30 September, French newspaper Le Figaro revealed that after he joined Capgemini, Danon was interviewed for a top job at hotel chain Accor.

Capgemini last week released a statement, which read: “Having agreed with Danon that Capgemini would not instantly react to this surprising announcement, and having accepted to make no further comment until the end of the week, the group now notes that the necessary conditions to maintain his leadership position could no longer be met.”
Capgemini, which disclosed that Danon had wanted to keep his job at the company, said there were no plans to replace him as yet.
