Employers
should undertake a feasibility study before implementing a flexible benefits
scheme, according to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
(CIPD).
The
institute has urged employers to build a substantial business case for the
introduction of any ‘flex’ scheme, ensure the culture of the organisation is
ready for the concept, and determine how best to communicate the new scheme.
The
potential benefits of ‘flex’ schemes include an increased ability to adapt to a
changing labour market, better targeting of benefits and enhancing the employer
brand.
