City College Plymouth becomes latest Further Education College to purchase Select HR Web Edition

by Personnel Today 3 Jul 2009
by Personnel Today 3 Jul 2009

City College Plymouth bought the very latest HR software solution from Select Software, Select HR Web Edition this month.  City College Plymouth joins over 70 other colleges currently using Select Software’s suite of products, popular with this particular business sector because of its advanced technical functionality and specialist functions, including production of the SIR (Staff Individualised Report).

City College Plymouth previously used a simple, bespoke HR system that no longer provided the flexibility they needed or the ability to manage online recruitment, hold documents against individual records effectively, handle multiple contracts and salaries and other college-specific requirements.   Initial research drew Select Software to their attention because of Select’s high profile in this business sector.

“We decided to go ahead with Select HR Web Edition because it offered the best match to our project criteria,” says Vicky Fitzpatrick, HR Office Manager.  “We need a faster, more accessible and adaptable HR system that can produce meaningful management data and also ensure swift production of the annual SIR return.”

“Key staff from Finance, IT and all the HR team including Staff Development were involved in the decision making process,” she continues.  “We principally liked the user defined fields, bespoke reporting capabilities and scope for future developments of the system , which really means that we are buying a product which truly fits the needs of the College.  Importantly, we felt that Select Software demonstrated a strong commitment to FE and in comparison with other systems available we really liked the general look and feel.  We need a system that will have a significant and positive impact on the work of the HR department.”

“In summary, Select HR Web Edition provides everything we need to give an efficient service to the College and our customers without being difficult to manage and update.  We very much look forward to working with Select Software.”

“Select Software is delighted that City College Plymouth is joining our college client list!” says Dee Caporali, Sales and Marketing Director of Select Software.  “I have no doubt that they will utilise Web Edition to its fullest capacity and benefit greatly from its capabilities.  Our college clients are very important to us and are keen participants in User Group Meetings and the new College Forum.”
