Council workers set to strike again over pay

Council
workers look set to strike again this month, hitting vital services.

Workers,
supported by local government union Unison, want the London Weighting allowance
increased to £4,000-a-year.

Currently,
the allowance stands at £2,800 for inner London and £1,500 for outer London.

Workers
have already held a series of strikes as part of the union’s campaign to get
the allowance increased.

The
dispute is likely to hit services such as refuse collection, transport and
benefit claims.
