Dixons expansion will create 10,000 new jobs

Dixons
is set to create 10,000 new jobs over the next five years.

The
electrical retail group announced it is planning to recruit about 1,000 new
full-time staff a year across the UK for the next five years and a similar
number in Europe.

The
news comes as Dixons continues to expand on the Continent, with plans to open more
PC City stores.

It
already has stores in Italy, France and Spain, and plans to open an additional
three or four in Italy during the next three to four months, and a similar
number in France within the next six to eight months.

The
company is also planning to open branches of its computer store ElectroWorld in
Budapest, Hungary and Prague, in the Czech Republic before Christmas.

Dixons
has more than 1,280 stores in total across the UK, Ireland, France, Spain,
Italy and the Nordic countries, including Currys, The Link and PC World.
