Boots
is axeing 900 jobs at its head office in Nottingham in an attempt to cut costs.
The
move by the high street retailer is part of its ‘Getting Into Shape’ programme
which aims to make £100m worth of savings over the next three years.
The
latest job cuts involve support and ‘central functions’ at its HQ, as well as
some regional support roles.
The
company cut 500 head office staff last year and warned that more cuts would be
made as extra control was given over to store managers.
