HR people moves: University of Sheffield, Ocado, IntaPeople

A round-up of the latest HR appointments.

The University of Sheffield has appointed Andrew Dodman, previously deputy director of HR management, as HR director. He will also join the university’s executive board at the end of March 2011. Before he started working for the university six years ago, Dodman was the group HR manager for a large charity/housing association and held several positions in the NHS. His appointment follows the retirement of former HR director Rosie Valerio.

Julie Markey has been named head of HR at online retailer Ocado. She previously spent five years as the head of personnel for Tesco’s property division. Prior to that, Markey held generalist HR roles in Tesco Commercial, worked in Tesco’s policy team on its “Caring For Our People” programme, and designed and implemented the process for addressing flexible-working legislation across the business.

Recruitment consultancy IntaPeople has selected Simon Goldsworthy as business development and HR commercial director. Goldsworthy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, having previously worked as HR director at Hitachi, Grundig and Thomson.
