The glitz and glamour of Hollywood came to London’s Grosvenor House in Park Lane as the HR world came out to play for the industry Oscars.
Last Thursday, more than 1,200 guests rock and rolled the night away in the company of look-a-likes Lara Croft, Marilyn Monroe, Clint Eastwood and Johnny Depp.
Comedian Graham Norton hosted the event and had the audience in stitches. Duncan Brown, assistant director general of the CIPD, came under fire from the comedian for his comments on human capital management in Personnel Today.
Overall winners at the Personnel Today Awards were West Bromwich Building Society (pictured), chosen from a field of top-notch entries.

General manager (people) Paul Turner and team were praised for their impressive use of metrics and understanding of how HR strategy can help business objectives.
The judges, who chose the outright winner from all the category winners, were: Neil Robertson, HR director, British Airways; Stephan Bevan, director of research, Work Foundation; Saudagar Singh, HR director, Npower; and Petra Cook, head of public affairs, Chartered Management Institute.
