Lancashire County Council staff face pay cuts

Almost 2,000 workers at Lancashire County Council have been told their pay will be cut by up to 30%, while 3,150 employees are in line for a pay rise, the Lancashire Telegraph has reported.

The changes are the result of a recent equal pay review, and the union Unite has warned that it could now ballot members over the controversial results.

Non-school workers, especially those earning salaries of less than £20,000, will be hit hardest by the pay cuts.
