Tube
staff are to strike over pay and working conditions, union leaders have
announced.
According
to the Evening Standard, the RMT – the largest of the Tube unions – will announce
the official result of the ballot tomorrow, and could then set the strike days.

The
RMT turned down a 3 per cent pay offer, and told the newspaper it believes
London Underground is planning to axe up to 800 station staff to help pay for
union demands for a 35-hour week.
