The
chief executive of the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has announced his plan
to retire before the end of the year.
John
Harwood, who has been at the LSC for three years, said he will quit at the end
of September.
The
organisation, which is responsible for all post-16 learning in the UK is now
looking for a full-time successor.
Harwood
was appointed to the LSC in the summer of 2000 and prior to that was the chief
executive of Oxfordshire County Council.
