Sean Wheeler is leaving Malmaison & Hotel du Vin, where he has been group director of people development since 2005, to become area director of HR at the Dorchester Collection.
His role is a new one and will involve overseeing three UK hotels – the Dorchester, Coworth Park in Berkshire (due to open in September 2010) and 45 Park Lane, London (due to open in January 2011).
“The Dorchester Collection will bring new challenges and new opportunities for me. Working in five-star properties has always been a goal of mine, as has the potential to work internationally,” said Wheeler.

His replacement at Malmaison & Hotel du Vin will be Michael Williams, currently head of HR at Firmdale Hotels.
Robert Cook, chief executive of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, said the loss of Wheeler would make a huge dent in the company.
