Manpower
has published an easy-to-use guide to help companies understand what the EU
Agency Workers Directive will mean to them.
If
the legislation is introduced in its present form the directive will give
temporary workers the right to equal pay and conditions of employment as
permanent staff after they have been employed at an organisation for more than
six weeks.
Ruth
Hounslow, Manpower’s public affairs manager, said the guide provides business
people with an overview of the changes proposed in the legislation. It
highlights key points, pinpoints industry concerns and assesses the
implications for these for business.
Hounslow,
said: "Manpower has always supported the principle of protecting agency
workers’ rights. However we don’t believe the directive does this as currently
framed ."
