Four out of five graduate nurses are facing unemployment, according to a report. Only one in five student nurses graduating this summer has a job lined up, the Council of Deans study of 20 UK universities revealed. The research showed the nursing crisis has got worse over the past year, with 50% of nursing graduates unable to find work in 2005, rising to 80% in 2006. Gail Adams, head of nursing at Unison union, said the government had let down nurses. “Student nurses are frustrated, angry and disillusioned because of the difficulties they face finding jobs as deficits bite.
