Julian Duxfield, previously HR director at the Department for Transport, has begun a new role as HR director at Group 4 Securicor’s cash services business. His departure is the latest in a string of changes among top HR professionals within government departments.
Banker makes race claim
A City bank is being sued for a record £10m for race discrimination after an employee claimed he was sacked for not being German. Malcolm Perry lost his job as managing director of Dresdner Kleinwort’s London office during restructuring last year.

Equal pay sackings loom
More councils could take the “drastic” step of threatening mass sackings as they reach desperation point on equal pay negotiations, Local Government Employers has warned. Last week, Birmingham City Council issued more than 40,000 redundancy notices in its bid to draw a line under unequal salary structures.
