Rose Woolstencroft (pictured) has been appointed as HR manager for international agricultural, food and risk management provider Cargill. She will oversee the 15-strong business integration team, focusing on European mergers and acquisitions. Woolstencroft will be based in Mechelen, near Brussels. She was previously HR manager for Sun Valley Europe, one of Cargill’s business units, in Hereford, UK.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has appointed its new vice-presidents (VPs). Richard Wilson, a former head of the Home Civil Service and a non-executive director of BSkyB and IT company Xansa, has been made president. Beverley Shears is VP of employee relations; Neil Roden will look after organisation and resourcing; and Sally Storey takes responsibility for diversity. Martin Ferber becomes VP for the international sector; Kim Birnie will oversee learning, training and development; Penny Hackett will look after membership and education; and Paul Bissell will focus on reward.
Russell Martin is joining Norwich Union Life in York as director of people and organisation. He is currently HR director of Prudential Assurance (UK and Europe) and will join Norwich Union Life in February 2006.
