Alison Hodgson (pictured) has joined online travel company Expedia as European HR and resourcing manager. Formerly head of resourcing at catering firm Sodexho, she will be responsible for talent acquisition, talent development, engagement and retention, employer branding and HR management information.
The head of diversity and inclusion at Royal Mail has left the organisation to set up her own consultancy. Satya Kartara’s new business, BeInclusive.co.uk, will provide consultancy to employers on issues involving diversity and inclusion. She will continue to provide consultancy to the Royal Mail on the management and implementation of its approach to equal opportunities in respect of the ongoing Equal Opportunities Commission investigation into inequality.
Mike Pemberton, group HR director at insurance group Aviva, will retire in March 2006. He will be succeeded by John Ainley, who is currently people and organisation director at Norwich Union Life. Russell Martin, currently HR director for UK and Europe at Prudential Assurance, will replace Ainley with effect from 1 February 2006.
