Headhunter Odgers Ray & Berndtson has appointed Patricia Smith as partner in its Cape Town office. In her new role, Smith will be responsible for board level appointments within the retail and financial services sectors. She joins the company from Woolworths SA, where she managed the retailer’s international talent acquisition as well as the development and retention of internal personnel.
The Office of Fair Trading has strengthened its corporate services division with the appointment of a new HR director. John Shelley, who was previously HR director at chemicals firm Crompton Europe, will be responsible for HR policy and operations. A former miner, Shelley’s career has concentrated on personnel management for the past 25 years.
Lesley Fieldhouse has started in the newly-created position of HR and office manager for Leicester-based graphic design consultancy Stocks Taylor Benson. She joins from financial services products provider Cattles, where she was the recruitment manager.
