Law firm Dundas & Wilson has announced the appointment of Bill Mitchell as director of HR. He joins from BlackRock, a major US-based asset management company. Mitchell will relocate to Edinburgh from New York where he has been based for the past three years.
Cancer Research UK has announced the appointment of Christine Lloyd as its executive director of people and organisational development. Currently vice-president of organisational development and change at Nokia in Finland, Lloyd has introduced organisational change strategies affecting the culture of Nokia and has also led major changes for HR modes of operation. She has 20 years experience in the field of management development, HR and organisational development, including recent senior roles at ICI and Shell International.
Hotel group Hilton UK & Ireland has announced that Steve James has been appointed vice-president, HR. He will take on responsibility for the HR function for the 78 Hilton hotels in the UK & Ireland. He joins from consultancy Deloitte, where he has been HR partner for the UK since 1992, managing a team of 160 HR professionals.
Dean Culshaw has been appointed training and development manager for consultancy group CNA International. He joins from Lander Associates, where he provided training to the recruitment industry.
Sarah Williams has moved to retailer Clinton Cards as HR operations manager. She joins from building materials supplier Tarmac, where she was a regional HR adviser. Prior to that, she worked for retailers Dixons, Currys and Iceland.
