On the move: Michael Davis, Charlotte Thomas, and Susan Chambers

Michael Davis has joined the UK Commission for Employment and Skills as director of strategy and performance. Davis was previously managing director of the Centre for Enterprise, and will be responsible for advising government on employment and skills strategy.

Brighton and Hove City Council has appointed Charlotte Thomas head of HR. Thomas joins from Cornwall County Council, where she was an interim HR consultant. She will lead and develop the council’s HR strategy, supporting the chief executive and management team to deliver the strategic agenda through its people.


Susan Chambers has joined Aberystwyth University as HR director. Joining the university from the City of Wolverhampton College, where she was vice-principal (staff and customers), Chambers will be responsible for both HR and equal opportunities. Her remit will also include responsibility for the Centre for the Development of Staff and Academic Practice team.
