OrgPlus Enterprise proves first choice for Police Forces across the UK

by Personnel Today 18 Aug 2010
by Personnel Today 18 Aug 2010

HumanConcepts, the leading provider of workforce decision support solutions, announced that Staffordshire Police is the latest police force to adopt its OrgPlus Enterprise organisational charting tool in the UK.

HumanConcepts already counts several forces around the country as customers, including Central Scotland, Dorset, Northumbria, Strathclyde and Surrey Police Forces. OrgPlus Enterprise enables police HR teams to automate organisation charts and use workforce data from the main HR system to produce visual employee directories. Many forces claim a return on investment after just one year through time saved, reduced administration costs and improved accuracy of workforce data.

OrgPlus Enterprise provides a visual representation of a police force’s main HR database, including data regarding absences and sick days, improving accountability throughout the organisation. Using the solution, they gain easy access to thousands of employees’ records. Charts and views of the data are populated and kept up to date with regular updates from the HR management system.

OrgPlus Enterprise enables the forces to create organisational charts for staff to view via a web-based portal. Basic job title and name information can be viewed by all levels of staff, while password protection and inherent data security rules can be applied to organisational charts displaying more sensitive data, such as employee levels and salary details. Managers and HR personnel can view teams of direct reports, vacant positions and headcount across the organisation.

Stuart Henry, director at SJH Charting, an OrgPlus Enterprise reseller and professional services supplier to Staffordshire Police, said: “Police forces use charts to view the staff that they have in the organisation, their skill sets and team structures. OrgPlus Enterprise enables them to create charts that can support their core processes, from services and budget planning to vacancy control and staff appraisals.”

Gill Daniels, director of EMEA at HumanConcepts, commented: “With public services spending under close scrutiny, it is now more important than ever for police forces to ensure that they have an accurate picture of their organisational structure, headcount and costs. OrgPlus Enterprise puts data at the fingertips of managers and HR teams to quickly see employee positions, vacancies, team structures and compensation levels.

“The solution’s intuitive format enables management to make informed workforce decisions. Our extensive experience with police departments provides them with the assurance that OrgPlus Enterprise can significantly aid in workforce planning, reduce errors and save time.”
