Job losses at Marconi will top 1,000 after the MSF union
announced the company would cut a further 500 jobs.
The union said that 322 jobs would go at Coventry, 164 in
Liverpool, 85 in Chelmsford, 20 in Nottingham and 10 in Cambridge.
Last week the company announced that its Poole plant will
close with the loss of 570 jobs.
The MSF have warned the telecoms equipment manufacturer that
the job cuts shouldn’t come from their membership.
