It seems that many do not realise that the excellent new range of CIPD qualifications ONLY cover the knowledge component needed for Chartered Membership or Fellowship and further upgrades are then necessary to obtain that status. The existing PAC route to Chartered Membership, based on work-based assessment of knowledge, skills and experience, is closing on 31st December this year and Maureen Scholefield, MD of Cullen Scholefield, urges anyone in a position to consider this route, to do so NOW!
Cullen Scholefield have been supporting HR professionals to gain professional recognition for over twenty four years all over the world, and as Managing Director, Maureen Scholefield, explains: “The CIPD is one of an elite group of UK professional bodies, the universally recognised body for HR Professionals – chartered status is the ultimate recognition.”
PAC might be the best route to Chartered Membership of the Institute for many HR Professionals. If you have five years management experience, of which three must be HR related, then working with Cullen Scholefield’s specialists, you can progress to a work based assessment of your knowledge and skills.
“CIPD is bringing in a new range of qualifications which will be an excellent route to gaining Chartered Status, but they only cover the knowledge component of the new Chartered Membership or Fellowship criteria, and further upgrades will be necessary to get to that status. So we do recommend to people in a position to consider the PAC route do so. It provides a structured process to assess individuals’ competence and recognise their experience, guaranteeing Chartered Membership without the need to upgrade. Registrations close on 31st December 2010 and registered candidates have three years to complete,” she adds.
