Rail industry employers arrived at Parliament this week to commemorate the 10,000th NVQ handed out in the sector.
Gordon Marsden MP praised the sector’s skills efforts at the House of Commons ceremony.
Four Counties Training delivered the NVQs in partnership with the Learning and Skills Council, City & Guilds, Barnet College and sector skills council Go Skills.
Marsden, chairman of the All Party Skills Group, said: “It is critical that employers work with their staff and union learning reps to meet goals and targets for up-skilling and re-skilling that we have to meet in order to be competitive.
