The
sacked leaders of the train drivers’ union Aslef are planning to attend the union’s annual
conference next week.
Shaun
Brady and Mick Blackburn will defy attempts to exclude them from the event in Scarborough.
The
two men were sacked last month after being found guilty of offences by a
disciplinary panel set up by the union.
Brady
was sacked after being found guilty of gross misconduct, while Blackburn
was found guilty of forging a reference for his son.
Both
men said they will appeal against their dismissals.
It
is understood that some delegates will try to censure or suspend the executive
in protest at the way Brady and Blackburn
have been treated.

The
two men were suspended from office in May following a brawl at a union
barbecue, although their subsequent dismissals were not related to that
incident.
