An
£18.7m centre dedicated to researching stress has been opened at the University
of Bristol.
The
Dorothy
Hodgkin Building,
which will cater for 120 researchers, was opened by Lord Sainsbury.
Extensive
investigations will be carried out, into the treatment of stress-related
illnesses, psychiatric disorders and Alzheimer’s disease.
Professor
of medicine Stafford Lightman
said : ‘The research
undertaken in this building should have a major impact on the treatment of
stress-related illness and psychiatric, neurological and hormonal
disorders."
